WHO MIGHT BE CALLED TO BECOME A BASILIAN MONK?

The requirements to become a Basilian Monk are:

to be a Catholic and practicing man;
to love Jesus Christ and want to follow Him with a charitable soul and pure heart;
to desire a life of prayer and in communal service;
to live a sound moral life;
to be free from bonds such as marriage, vows, etc.
to be free from the dependency of children and parents;
to enjoy good mental and physical health;
to be free from financial obligations;
to be interested in the Byzantine-Greek rite and in the Spirituality of eastern Christianity;
to be between the ages of 18 and 35.

The main requirement, beside these above, is the will to change lifestyle, to convert the heart to Christ and to live in community with the human maturity necessary for this way of life.

God acts first, inviting, calling, often very quietly, sometimes directly. The Call requires a response.
