| VOCATION -> Vocation Discernment "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening" (1S 3,9) |
|
WHO MIGHT BE CALLED TO BECOME A BASILIAN MONK?
The main requirement, beside these above, is the will to change lifestyle, to convert the heart to Christ and to live in community with the human maturity necessary for this way of life. Suggestions of biblical stories for the vocation discernment God acts first, inviting, calling, often very quietly, sometimes directly. The Call requires a response.
What is God asking of me today? Now? What is my response? «My soul yearns after the Lord and I seek Him in tears. Hadst Thou not drawn me with Thy love, I could not seek Thee as I seek Thee now; but Thy Spirit gave me to know Thee, and my soul rejoices that Thou art my God and my Lord, and I yearn after Thee even to tears. My soul yearns after God and I seek Him in tears». St. Silouan |
