The Monastery of Grottaferrata has been publishing the Bollettino della Badia Greca (BBGG) since 1947. It is a yearly scientific review availing itself of the contributions of scholars and specialists in several subjects.
In 2004 on the occasion of the beginning of the second millennium of the Monastery (1004-2004), the Bulletin started its third series; since year 2004 will be indicated as: BBGG III. series nr. 1 (2004).
Maintaining its traditional high scientific level, the Bulletin will assume a more specific monastic character, privileging subjects pertaining to Italo-Greek monasticism, such as monastic history and tradition, liturgy, spirituality, canon law, theology, patrology, arts, codicology, textual criticism, palaeography, etc.
The University of Tor Vergata, Department of Classical Antiquity and Tradition edited several years of the BBGG, to # 56 (2002-2003) of the second series inclusive. From year 2004 the Bulletin is being published by the sole Greek Abbey of Grottaferrata.
